We celebrated our new nonagenarian status with a very assured victory at Tidworth on August Bank Holiday Monday.
The Frogs batted first and started well before Kieran McClure and Theo Bossom took 3 quick wickets to peg them back. Further wickets from Sumith Surendran and Ninian Macgregor meant that at lunch they were 108 for 5.
Another each for Theo, Kieran, and Slow Death McGregor (after excellent work by keeper Sean McClure to make the stumping) after the break saw an eventual declaration at 206/8 from 50 overs.
The wicket and outfield were slow throughout so the chase was on the gritty side of the spectrum. George Elliot and Dom Spencer opened but fell in quick succession before tea following some accurate and skilful bowling. Josh Kelly and I came together and batted on from pre-tea into the last hour, needing 119 from the final 20 overs. Josh was well caught on the rope for 72, I was bowled for 83 by a fearsome long hop with 21 still to win, leaving Elliot Gaiger and Jack Bramwell to get us over the line.
A Queries win by 6 wickets with an over and some to spare was the final result. A great fixture as always
