The Last Match for a Queries Stalwart

Such is the character of the man, when Brian Thompson heard that we were short of a player for the South Wilts CC game, he immediately offered to play – with provisos it has to be said, but at 80 years of age you can be permitted to stand at first slip and bat 11 !

Brian has been a staunch Wiltshire Query for 30+ years, keeping wicket to a very high standard, managing matches, being a committee member and being one of our fiercest supporters.  We salute him for that fantastic length of participation, support, and service and look forward to many more years when he will come and watch our games. Afterwards he confirmed that he had just played his last ever game of cricket for the Queries.

After the SW CC match, Jack Bramwell presented Brian with a club shield and polo shirt as a thank you for his many years of wonderful Queries cricket.
