24 fixtures were scheduled for this season as the Club regrouped under its new leadership. Overall it was a successful season : we played 17 fixtures, won 13, drew 2 and lost 2. Disappointingly there were 7 fixtures cancelled, 2 by rain (Monkton Combe School and King’s School Bruton), 3 by the oppositions (Marshfield [fixture clash], Bournemouth Alumni [players] and the Army Masters XI [Covid], and 2 by us for a lack of players [Farley CC and Bishops Cannings CC).
The 13 victories were Erlestoke (6 wkts), Free Foresters (5 wkts), Chilmark (4 wkts), Dauntsey’s School (4 wkts), Royal Artillery Larkhill (8 runs), Headley Old Freemen’s (137 (runs), Potterne u19s (2 wkts), Yorkshire Gents (34 runs), Ilkley (5 runs), The Incogniti (82 runs), Hinton Charterhouse (56 runs), Potterne (90 runs) and South Wilts CC (4 wkts).
We lost to Marlborough College 1st XI by 53 runs, and to Adel CC by 6 wkts. We drew with The Forty Club [YNE] in a match abandoned to rain, and we drew with The Frogs CC.
Thanks to the 84 players, including 20 guests/candidates who have played for us this year, and also a big thank you to the umpires and scorers that have supported us throughout.
