A 7 wicket Win over The Incogniti

We played the Incogs today at Tidworth ground – a good day, as it turned out, sandwiched between yesterday’s rain and tomorrow’s tempests – and we completed our match without interruption. Incogs batted first. were 3 down at lunch, lost 4 quickly after lunch and guided by one batter who scored 76, scrambled to 186 all out in their 50th over.

It was a good day for some Queries debutants – Elliott Gaiger took his first wicket, Charlie Owen took two, Christian Syms also took 2 – and then Tom Campbell cleaned up the tail taking the last 4 wickets in 3.4 overs for just 29 runs.

Our reply was steered by our opening pair Tom Campbell and Nick Jephson who enjoyed a century stand before Nick was run out for 47. Tom was eventually bowled for an excellent 80, leaving Sumith Surendran (29*), Jack Bramwell (20) and Geoff Ramsey (5*) to finish off. Three wickets down we reached 187 in the 46th over and had won by 7 wickets.

The score cards can be seen on the Play-Cricket website and we have a few photos below. We finished off the day with our guests and a modest libation or two looking out over the glorious ground that is Tidworth.
