Match drawn. King’s 246 for 9 from 53 overs. Sam Waters was the pick of the 8 bowlers used (9 overs, 3 for 30), supported by Christian Syms (9 overs 2 for 50), Jake Bunday (10 overs 2 for 56) and Joe Dorgan (8 overs 1 for 25). Queries finished on a disappointing 84 for 9. In truth none of our batsmen got going and we seemed to lose wickets in pairs which made it even more difficult to gather momentum. Only two made it into double figures (Tom Whiting 26, Christian Syms 21). A Mention in Despatches goes to 14 year old Rafe Williams (borrowed from King’s) who faced 78 high pressure balls and Jake Bunday (who faced 50 balls) and between them they were able to drop anchor to help us secure the draw. As always it was a privilege to play with the Queries – I know that the school looks forward to this fixture. Thank you to those who turned out!
