Jack Bramwell led his team of 10 to a resounding victory in a 35 over match against Potterne CC yesterday. Put in the field, Christian Syms and Freddie Higton took the new ball and at 5 overs for 42 and 3 overs 1 for 22 got us onto the score board. However it was Toby Jones’ 6 overs, 3 for 20 which alongside Seb Woodford’s 7 overs 2 for 56 which made the breakthrough and removed the middle order, followed by a wicket from Jack B and two from Tom Campbell and Potterne, also playing with 10 men, were all out for 182.
The Higton family opened the Queries batting, only for Ben to drag one on in the opening over for us to be 4 for 1. Freddie hit a couple of lusty blows before getting caught for 16, and Dad James was out the same way for a duck. Meanwhile Adam Cutler was in faultless mode and when joined by Tom Campbell took the game away from Potterne. A century from Adam and 38 from Tom and we were home and dry in the 20th over only 3 wickets down. Well played Adam and Tom.
