Thanks to 6 good batting performances, Queries were able to post a challenging target of 256 in 40 overs at Hinton. Josh Kelly opened with 25, George Edwards helped out with 26, Ollie Illingworth boosted the score with 43, Jack Butler carried his bat for 42, Simon Campbell brought up the tail with 33*, but it was a 68 run blast from Nick Leach in 50 balls that was the icing on the cake. Young Conor Grant was the pick of the HCCC bowlers with 2 for 35 in 6 overs.
In reply, HCCC’s Ed Borton started well with 62 runs of his own but the middle order collapsed with 5 wickets falling for 27 runs and they ran out of overs at 200. Scyld Berry had taken 3 for 25 from his 8 overs: Dom Spencer and Olly Reeve took 2 apiece, and Nick Leach got one. 5 HCCC wickets fell to catches.
