The Queries made heavy weather of chasing down 105 in 20 overs at the Walled Garden, Erlestoke, in their first outing of the season. Rupert Bagnall, Paul Sullivan, Julian Lishman, Charlie Owen and Dom Spencer all bowled tidily to restrict Erlestoke on a sunny evening and a flat deck. Then after the turn-around Josh Sullivan and James Illingworth catapulted the score to 72 in 7 overs, but from then on things deteriorated and we limped over the line with a mighty 6 from Dom Spencer, and 7 wickets down!
It was good to see Tom Whiting and Ollie Lishman playing, and Jack Bramwell back from his winter down under. Joe Dorgan and his Erlestoke colleagues were terrific hosts both at the ground, and back at The Bell once we had found our way there !
