Queries beat the Wiltshire County Seniors Development XI today by 36 runs, scoring 218 from 35 on a slightly rain-affected day. Adam Batisson, Matt Cansdale and Dom Spencer all scored 50 and retired. The bowling was opened by the unlikely pairing of Simon Campbell who took 2 wickets, and Ted Pearson who got one with qualified success. Dom Spencer (1 wkt) & Ninian MacGregor (1 wkt) challenged the technique and sanity of the batsman, wheeling away. Jack Campbell (1 wkt) did the death overs proficiently. The Seniors couldn’t keep up with the rate. Sean McClure kept well, some of the fielding was average and the catching problematic, but we had the advantage of having a couple who could scamper around the outfield. The opposition, with a number of old friends from all over the county was a pleasure to play against and we hope to continue this one next year.
